Next, cut the white construction paper into smaller circles, these will be Elmo's eyes, and cut the black construction paper into dime sized circles for the pupils of the eyes.
Cut the orange construction paper in to smaller ovals for Elmo's nose and cut the black construction paper into the shape of Elmo's mouth. Finally, to finish off your Elmo birthday invitations put your party information on the back of the card.
Elmo's Goldfish Invitation
Take either an enlarged picture of a goldfish or a picture of a goldfish in a bowl. Then print it onto white cardstock, and cut out the background so all that is left is the shape of the picture. Finally, put your Elmo birthday party information on the back. On the picture you can add, "Come join me at (your child's name) Elmo First Birthday Party".
You can purchase small Sesame Street and Elmo toys or mini theme related stuffed animals and attach small cards with your baby's first birthday party information on them.
Dress your baby up in an Elmo costume and take their picture. Print the picture out on white card stock and add, "Come join Baby Elmo (child's name) for a very special Elmo first birthday party". Then add your party information on the back.
If you are looking for the perfect Elmo birthday party look you can use a baby or toddler Elmo costume to make your child feel special. If you are using a costume for invitation pictures, you can use face paint to paint your baby’s face red and nose orange. Just be sure to keep an eye on your baby while wearing the face paint and remove it after the pictures have been taken, to avoid them accidentally eating it or rubbing it into their eyes.

You can choose to purchase Elmo first birthday party centerpieces for your tables or you can make your own Elmo centerpieces. You can do this by taking helium filled Mylar balloons or theme colored balloons and attach them to Elmo stuffed animals with theme colored ribbon. Mylar balloons are great for an Elmo first birthday party, as they are safer for young children and are harder to pop. (The Elmo stuffed animals may need weighed down depending on their size and the amount of balloons attached.) If you want great looking Sesame Street character Mylar balloons then check these out.

You can attach helium balloons to the backs of chairs, the corners of tables, even on a few of the presents. If you want to add a helium balloon somewhere, but there is nothing to tie it to use balloon weights.
If older children will be attending the party you can use different colored balloons to designate different play areas for different the age groups, this is a great way to keep the younger children safe since older kids tend to be more active.
You can take laminated pictures of Elmo, goldfish (Elmo's pet), pianos (Elmo's favorite hobby), Zoe (Elmo's best friend), and other Sesame Street characters and tape them all over your party area. You can tape them on the backs and seats of chairs, walls, doors, trees, fences, table umbrellas, and coolers. If you would like better looking party wall decorations you can use Giant Elmo Peel and Stick Wall Decals or a huge Sesame Street Scene Setter Decoration Set.
